As a member of the Philips Healthcare executive team, Dr. Silfen worked closely with a global network of medical thought leaders to ensure that clinical insights and a people-focused approach were at the core of Philips product development and go-to-market strategies. Dr. Silfen was accountable for advancing Philips’ Healthcare strategy by focusing on the needs of patients and care providers throughout the care cycle. Dr. Silfen's key responsibility included crafting and disseminating a medical consciousness that reflected Philips Healthcare’s commitment to personal health and well-being.Specific responsibilities included:A) Created and led a global Medical Affairs organization with a budget of 9.8 M€.B) Developed six functional areas of excellence: 1) key opinion leader network development; 2) clinical regulatory affairs; 3) clinical research services; 4) health economics and reimbursement; 5) health policy planning; and, 6) health knowledge management.
