Dr. Silfen was accountable for advancing Philips’ Healthcare strategy by focusing on the needs of patients and care providers throughout the care cycle. Dr. Silfen's key responsibility included crafting and disseminating a medical consciousness that reflected Philips Healthcare’s commitment to personal health and well-being.Specific responsibilities included:A) Created and led a global Medical Affairs organization with a budget of 9.8 M€.B) Developed six functional areas of excellence: 1) key opinion leader network development; 2) clinical regulatory affairs; 3) clinical research services; 4) health economics and reimbursement; 5) health policy planning; and, 6) health knowledge management.
