I love the internet. Like, *love* love. I love that it has transformed our lives and how it's turning us all into producers instead of consumers. I love the way it connects us to friends, family, and new folks everywhere. I love how blogging, podcasting, and social media have given voices to people who would otherwise be unheard. I love how the GPL and Creative Commons allow my amateur music, photos, and art to be seen, enjoyed, remixed, and mashed up by anyone.

Co-FounderTanooki Labs Dec 2012 - PresentNew York, Ny, UsTanooki Labs is a web and mobile app studio focused on helping entrepreneurs bring their ideas from the whiteboard to reality, and we've been working with a number of startups from the very earliest phases of product discovery all the way through development team augmentation for larger companies. We've collectively built dozens of products both here at Tanooki Labs and at our previous companies and entrepreneurial endeavors, and we've learned many of the hardest lessons directly. We're at our best when we can get involved early and help apply those learnings to avoid common product and development pitfalls.SERVICESTanooki Labs will help you map out your initial product strategy, build a solid MVP (minimum viable product), and continue to support your on-going, iterative development.PROCESSWe work in Agile development sprints that provide the greatest level of transparency for our clients. You will be included in daily stand-up meetings and weekly retrospectives to make sure you have a handle on exactly how your product development is going at all times.TECHNOLOGIESWe are big fans of Ruby on Rails and native iOS development, but we choose the right tool for every project. Our team has significant experience in many platforms and languages. -

Api Evangelist And DeveloperDrop.Io Feb 2010 - Oct 2010UsAt Drop.io, I was given the opportunity to both shape the Rich Media Backbone API (and the systems behind it), while also working with developers and major companies to build products based on it. This dual role gave us the ability to react extremely quickly to the needs of partners and create a product that was truly essential for anyone handling rich media uploads from their users. Personally, working at Drop.io was a fantastic opportunity for me to dive into both a larger development workflow using RoR, scaling webapps for millions of users, designing an API for developers, and managing the developer community. -
Developer And Co-Creator, Amplify.ComClipmarks.Com Dec 2006 - Dec 2009UsClipmarks was a small company building new ways to share what you're reading on the web. As a small team, we iterated quickly, and did whatever was needed to get the job done, which makes choosing a title difficult. At Clipmarks, I functioned as Community Evangelist, Video Producer, Product Strategist, de facto Designer, and Developer. Most recently, I developed Amplify.com, a social network for sharing what you're reading built in PHP on top of Wordpress MU. Working with Facebook Connect, Twitter, and other APIs, we made it easy to sign up and sync your clips to external services. We also added social networking functionality and ways for users to expose new content, and new users, to each other.I also functioned as the sysadmin for Amplify.com, installing and maintaining wordpress MU in a horizontally scaled deployment of 256 mysql databases across multiple servers. -
