Responsible for architecting and implementing a multi-tiered enterprise scale virtualization and storage environment consisting of various levels of service.Converted a neglected and poorly performing vSphere 3.5 ESX environments being managed by a third party firm into an enterprise virtualization environment. The previous environment was transformed from a sandbox to a true enterprise solution serving all levels of development, test, and production. In addition, drug and device manufacturing and global business critical applications were migrated to the platform. It currently consists of over 10000 VMs and 600 hosts in over 10 countries on a mix of HP and Nutanix hardware.Designed and implemented Zerto for a new generation DR strategy to reduce RPO and RTO times from hours to minutes. Zerto is currently implemented in three of our North American datacenters for applications such as Sharepoint and eventually SAP. Zerto is also in the testing phase for DR recovery to Amazon Web Services.Designed a Netapp C-mode based NFS storage solution to compliment the company’s existing costly Fiber Channel storage backend. This was completed in an effort to drive down the cost per VM and develop a performance based storage tiering solution. This was later transformed into an internal POD solution with HP C7000s alongside various Netapp C-mode arrays in our transition to the Switch Colocation in Las Vegas, NV.Developed complex and highly redundant environments for mission critical applications such as SAP, Oracle, SQL, and other drug manufacturing and patient care applications. This was accomplished with HA, Zerto, VMware Operations Manager, SRM, Netapp Storage Clustering, and various other technologies.
