A privately held financial think tank providing securities research for companies preparing for registration of their securities on the NASDAQ, offering comparative industry analyses of a client company to their specific industry group utilizing Standard Industrial Codes (SIC Codes) as a basis for their comparison. Reports were distributed to investment banking firms as a method of justifying the financial resources of a business's capital plan and how they would compare with their industry group upon funding. Reports could be amended annually and distributed to market makers in a client company's stock. These reports were also utilized in analysis of acquisition strategies and mergers. Institute members were available for special situation meetings with the financial community to explain their findings and discuss the source material utilized for the report compilation, if requested by a client's financiers. As President of the Institute, Eric utilized his knowledge of securities analysis in keeping with all of the Prudent Man Rules aspects of research reporting to the investment banking community. In cooperation with the University of Arizona, the Institute identified and utilized sources acceptable to the investment banking community in preparing presentation of their compendiums. All research was overseen by Eric and reviewed with the client's investment bankers prior to distribution.

A diverse financial services group. 1st Nebraska provided consultation for corporate development to privately held corporations, partnerships and proprietorships in the States of Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri, with an emphasis on tax planning, retirement, compensation plans and acquisition or merger. 1st Nebraska also provided agricultural business management for Nebraska agribusiness owners. Other services offered were financial planning, real estate development and prior to 1992, investment banking services and insurance. Eric's duties were to analyze businesses for corporate development areas, private finance, asset sales, compensation plans and general business opportunities related to acquisitions in the agribusiness industry through the investment banking group.

A management consulting firm that offered diverse services to foreign and domestic companies seeking to list or underwrite their securities on the NASDAQ. Unisource specialized in businesses in the communications industry, mining, printing, electronic retail, medical equipment manufacturing and the entertainment industry. Unisource utilized a board of industry advisers selecting an account executive attuned to a particular industry group to carry out the path of development recommended by the advisory board. Eric's duties were to prepare a potential client for introduction to the advisory board, develop foreign markets for Unisource's services and client products, prepare due diligence files for preliminary use toward NASDAQ listing requirements and enlist the investment banking community for market making purposes. Eric also prepared public relations material, news releases and acted as liaison in special situation meetings with the investment banking community in behalf of clientele.Foreign stock exchange listing and market making solicitation were also Eric's responsibility. He specialized in dealing directly with floor traders in large block transactions.

A mortgage originator and brokerage firm. Columbia specialized in hard to place home mortgages, usually associated with credit reporting inconsistencies, divorce, bankruptcy, or income to outstanding debt ratios. As an originator, Columbia would purchase first deeds of title on homes throughout Washington State. Headquartered in; the firm would solicit licensed stock brokers throughout the United States to sell its mortgages after owning them for one year.As a financial service Columbia was not required to have a mortgage brokerage license in Washington State, as long as they were purchasing the mortgage for their own account, or if brokering a loan, the sale was consummated through a licensed securities representative. Through this method Columbia built relationships with over 7,000 retail stock brokers throughout the United States, selling to their investors, tax sheltered investments in equipment leasing in communications systems for small businesses and mortgages brokered by Columbia. Eric was the founder of this thriving business developing the above methods to underwrite mortgages in an unencumbered manner. Eric built a portfolio of mortgages exceeding $70,000,000 when he sold the Corporation.

A non-profit community organization for cultural development. The Los Angeles Opera Company produced several operas each year. The Board of Directors consisted of minority ethnic groups dedicated to the enrichment of cultural interracial activities through civic involvement. All of the costs for public performances were conducted through business and private donation fund raising campaigns, which were the responsibility of the Assistant Director of Community Affairs. Eric's role was to solicit donations from various organizations throughout the Los Angeles area. Eric produced many of the fund raising activities through art auctions. Artists from around the world would contribute works for sale. Eric also brought about the introduction of guest celebrities of royalty and many stage and theatrical stars, filming those auctions for pubic television as a means of furthering the perception amongst various potential donors to expand the Los Angeles Opera Company's theatrical productions.
