About Eric Tam

I'm a business development and legal professional who has used my experience and training throughout my career to explore, negotiate, and execute partnership opportunities with strategic entertainment and technology partners, especially in the games and streaming content industries.I've previously developed experience in a variety of spheres, including legal practice (in the context of a large corporate-commercial law firm, as well as an arts-oriented non-profit), mobile and core games, charitable organizations, government, and academia. I worked on Verizon's Next Gen Entertainment and Content deal teams on numerous strategic partnerships to promote the company's innovation and strategic marketing endeavours. I was on the business development team of the game-focused livestreaming site (and Amazon subsidiary) Twitch, where I pursued and negotiated partnership opportunities with game and media companies. Previously, I served as Counsel for Business and Legal Affairs at Humble Bundle, a mature start-up game distribution and promotion platform. My Humble role covered full-service business development, developer/publisher relations, in-house counsel practice (with an emphasis on licensing and commercial contracts, as well as charitable regulations), contract administration, marketing strategy, and charitable relations and compliance.I try to bring a highly constructive, positive, and upbeat attitude to life and work — so don't be shy about saying hello if you have something to share with me. I have a wide variety of interests—although my strongest passions are political philosophy, theatre, karaoke, thoughtful conversations, and (surprise) games and sports of all kinds.
