Eric is a videographer/reporter with the CJDC-TV news team. He finds story ideas in the Dawson Creek/surrounding area and presents them to his other fellow reporters. Eric builds relationships and contacts with important people in the city so he can call them when he needs them for a story. Eric films, conducts interviews, edits, and writes his own stories. He is also responsible for live tweeting, posting his stories on the CJDC-TV website, and posting pictures on the Instagram page. He also fills in as the evening news/sports/weather anchor position when needed and also fills in as a radio newscaster when called upon.

Eric is the weekend anchor at 104.7 Heart FM and is also the municipal affairs/city council beat reporter. While anchoring, Eric is expected to show up an hour before his shift begins to prepare newscasts and read through the news stories of the day. Eric then uses his intuition for news value and puts them into the proper order to read in the cast. Eric is also left with story ideas from the news director to cover over the weekend and file them to be used for the upcoming week. Eric performs several newscasts during each of his shifts. He also banters with the radio personality. He also posts all of his stories that he works on during his shift to the station's social media pages and on the 104.7 Heart FM news page.

While at CTV London, Eric will be shadowing reporters, contributing to the daily newscasts, helping their online team write articles and post on social media platforms. He also provides updates from the CTV London newsroom on stories that he works on from the London and surrounding area.

As a camera operator/sports analyst, Eric was responsible for preparing for the sports cast prior to the game, researching facts and then presenting them while interviewing players/coaches or performing play-by-play for Rogers TV Oxford County. Eric commonly called Woodstock Navy Vets games.

Eric interned here during his 2nd year of school at Fanshawe College. Eric had many jobs including: presenting stories to the morning content editor, chasing/covering stories, conducting interviews, online writing, recording business/market updates, prepare newscasts for on air, perform newscasts, write each story he covered online and then posting each story on the Blackburn News webpage and posting links on all of their social media. While at Sarnia, Eric also sent live tweets from breaking news scenes from his own personal Twitter account and from the Blackburn News account as well.

During Eric's secondary school education, Eric worked at 106.9 The X to work on his skills. Eric was the police/crime beat reporter. During the newscasting rotation, Eric was the assistant assignment editor for the morning shift. Eric conducted interviews, produced story ideas, chased stories and also posted all stories on the 106.9 The X website and on all social media platforms. Eric covered several breaking news scenes, city council meetings, and court cases. Eric was also awarded the "Dana Lewis Front Line" award for his breaking news scene of a break in and enter and fire at an elementary school. He was also awarded with the first ever "Online Journalism" for his online article and video of a fatal three vehicle crash. He won both of these awards while at school and while working at 106.9 The X.

St. Mary'S High School

Eric was part of the broadcast team in high school that put together the morning video announcements called "St. Mary's AM". Eric was in charge of many positions including: director, producer, audio producer and on air talent. It was through this high school course that got Eric very interested in the journalism field.
