I am a member of the real estate transactions practice team in the Office of General Counsel. My practice focuses on transactional real estate development for residential projects, including mixed-finance transactions. My role also includes:• Document drafting and review in support of financial closings in development transactions, including compliance with lender requirements.• Reviewing and drafting of leases, management agreements, master development agreements, license agreements, operations contracts, and letters of intent.• Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for new developments and existing residential properties.• Engagement and negotiation with tenant advocacy groups.• Assisting in corporate governance practice regarding Authority’s subsidiaries and affiliated entities, compliance with bylaws, scheduling and participating in board of directors meetings, and preparation of Authority executives for board of commissioners meetings.• Participating in the Freedom of Information Act response team. Responsible for review of public FOIA requests, requesting documents from internal clients, review and redaction of confidential information, drafting of FOIA responses, and FOIA appeals.• Participating in litigation as needed, including review of claims, negotiation with opposing counsel, engaging with outside counsel, and settlement drafting and review.

I renovate, own, and manage residential real estate in the Washington, DC metro area.

Practice includes a broad range of real estate litigation and transactional matters. I assist clients in matters involving general real estate litigation, lease reviews, zoning, partitions, construction disputes, TOPA issues, landlord-tenant matters, purchase and sale agreements, real estate lending, deed drafting, and general real estate counsel. Clients include individuals, large and small investors, developers, contractors, residential and commercial landlords and tenants. I provided research, analysis, and strategic insight to DCBA’s clients on matters of health care and business law and policy.

I was a senior legal editor in Bloomberg Law's health care division, writing for the Medicare Report and Health Care Fraud Report publications. I also worked as the legal editor for the Real Estate Law & Industry Report, and the Digital Discovery & e-Evidence publication prior to joining the health care division.

I performed legal research for agency projects and publications. I also drafted memos with legal analysis for review by project leaders, and contributed to and edited agency publications, including the "Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence: Reference Guide on Toxicology," "Patent Claim Construction: A Survey of Federal District Court Judges," and "A Quarter-Century of Summary Judgment Practice in Six Federal District Courts."

I researched legal issues in federal and state antitrust cases, drafted memos analyzing relevant litigation issues for senior attorneys, and participated in document review.

I researched individual commercial real estate sales and produced sales comparable reports on commercial real estate transactions. In this capacity I gained experience with the investment, leasing, and general business aspects of commercial real estate. I also researched commercial leasing activity for CoStar's commercial space database.
