Operations Manager
CurrentI manage a team of 5 incredible folks, including 3 drivers, 1 inventory coordinator, and 1 partnership coordinator. Areas under my purview include inventory and volunteer management, box packing, transportation, ordering, and receiving of commodities, food safety, warehouse safety, etc. for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, or CSFP, a USDA program that serves seniors across the entirety of the US. I manage all logistics for a caseload of 5570 seniors in DC and 1300 seniors in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties in Maryland. I am also responsible for monthly reporting of all commodity movement to our state agencies. I am proud to say that my team maintains a high level of inventory accuracy, with count accuracy never dropping below 97%, while also maintaining flexibility in our operations to respond to unique situations as they arise to serve our seniors in the most effective manner possible. We take our duties of serving seniors very seriously and we take our standards of compliance just as seriously.I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the National CSFP Association as a local agency director. This board organizes an annual conference for all association members, hosts trainings and other webinars, and guides policy agendas for CSFP on a national and state level, including working with national lawmakers, USDA officials, and State Agencies.In addition to CSFP logistics, I also manage inventory for the Senior Brown Bag program, a Direct Distrubutions Program that utilizes USDA TEFAP products, along with fresh produce, frozen products, and other purchased or donated items as available, to fill in the gaps in our CSFP service.In these roles, I work across all departments of CAFB, including programs, operations, marketing, finance, food resources, data and analytics, etc. I also get to work with folks in similar roles around the country. I am a relationship builder at my core, and my role allows me to do that in unique ways every day.
