Design and develop curriculum and instruction and class management strategies for all courses, including syllabi and lesson plans.Assess the students’ learning outcome for all courses thought bases on the school and its programs’ set goals and objectives.Review periodically and assure curriculum and instruction of courses are relevant and up to date.Review and become proficient with the E-Learning Management Systems.Utilize innovative teaching and technology approach to teaching.Develop faculty goals and objectives and annual report for every academic year.

- Works with applicable offices to obtain crime, fire, and disciplinary referral data for inclusion into theAnnual Security & Fire Safety Report and US Department of Education reporting.- Prepares, publishes, and distributes the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR)- In conjunction with the applicable offices, develops and implements Clery Act required policies, programs, and activities- Establishes Clery Act compliance programs at each separate UNT campus.- Works with the appropriate University Departments to identify and notify all Campus Security Authorities for the institution and maintains a list of them for each academic year.- Provides, facilitates, and/or coordinates training for institutional “campus security authorities” and key institutional stakeholders on Clery Act requirements.- Works with various institutional offices to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Sexual Assault Victim’s Bill of Rights and the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act.- Works with University offices to ensure all prospective students and employees, new students and employees have access to publications related to the Clery Act.- Collaborate with the Division of Emergency Management to ensure that required emergency policies and testing are in place.- Coordinates with the Police and Emergency Management to ensure compliance with the timely warning, emergency notification, and crime log & fire log requirements in the Clery Act)- Serves as the Records Custodian for all Clery Act-associated records and ensures the institution maintains accurate records on security awareness and crime prevention programs and presentations.- Stays abreast of pending and final changes to the Clery Act and other laws or regulations affecting Clery Act provisions.- Works with University offices to ensure all prospective students and employees, new students and employees have access to publications related to the Clery Act.

- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations for Campus Safety Services, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Health & Safety, Parking Services, and Clery Compliance; including a staff of 40 Employees: 3 Unit Managers, 7 Supervisors, 4 Administrative Coordinators, 11 Officers, 5 Dispatchers, 2 Fire Safety Staff, and 8 Part-time Employees.- Administer a comprehensive campus safety services program that includes facility security, emergency management, investigations (including internal affairs), parking control, medical transportation services, environmental health & safety, and Clery compliance.- Recommends, creates, and implements long and short-term strategic goals and operational plans for the department. Coordinate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Manage staff evaluations, professional development, and corrective actions.- Manage annual budget for Campus Safety, Access Control, Transportation Services, Emergency Management, and Environmental Health & Safety.- Establish, and develop institutional emergency management, preparedness, and continuity of operations programs.- Oversee Clery Compliance and ensure the University’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and other related safety and security regulations. Oversee coordination of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.- Develop Risk Management and Threat Assessment Programs.

As the Director of Public Safety Chief Sullivan provided management, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of public safety and transportation services. Chief Sullivan was responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the operations of Harris-Stowe State University’s Department of Public Safety which includes a comprehensive public safety program focused on a climate of safety and security for the campus community, emergency preparedness, crime prevention, investigations, Clery compliance, parking, and traffic control, fire safety, and confidential law enforcement information management. Chief Sullivan also served as a liaison with external public safety agencies and public assistance services.
