As founding CTO, I took primary responsibility for design/architecture of our bidding engine and shared the management of our engineering team with one other co-founder. Our automated bidding system now participated in real-time auctions on hundreds of thousands of ad impression opportunities per second matching the traffic with targeting parameters and adjusting to optimize effectiveness.

My role was akin to that of an outsourced CTO plus some involvement in other aspects. I managed a team of developers and sysadmins which I provided through my company Semperex.www.aintitcool.com is a famous and influential internet blog/news site for "movie geeks".I was responsible for the establishment and maintenance of site's infrastructure and software which handled peaks of more than 2 million dynamically generated page-views daily. My team built two different CMS solutions including one in RoR from scratch intended for maximum flexibility in anticipation of a dramatically more dynamic direction and features. We managed all aspects of hosting on dedicated/colo in two data centers for 5+ years and in the AWS cloud for 2+ years.In addition to CMS, we attended to numerous SA concerns connected with a popular internet site including defending against DoS attacks, hardening separate ad servers, etc.I started out in a very hands-on technical role and built a team of contractors over time.

Semperex is a springboard for innovation. Used advanced techniques including AI to analyze, understand and present information.Previously provided IT and colo/managed hosting services.

I drove the vision and virtually every detail of the Chicago-based hosting ISP's first cloud initiative as I proposed, defined, encouraged and created through the first phases. My roles included that of architect, project manager and hands-on lead developer. As a de facto intrapreneur, my role meshed deeply technical work, executive-level aspects and many things in between.

PressingTruth aimed to remove bias and identify facts in information through software driven analysis with possible applications in news, public relations, politics, financial markets and more.

As a high school student I worked part time to implement and operate the school's networks, servers and computer labs in a Windows environment. Also got down and dirty to do cabling, etc. Set up internet access, internet email system, etc. Did much of the decision making and was the highest paid student on campus. :-)

As a teenager, ran a dial-in Houston area bulletin board system with a loyal following of 1,500 users and provided one of Houston's largest selection of files and online role playing games. Also provided lively discussion forums and eventually Internet access.
