Responsible for the operational management of the Epidemiologic Research Division, to include four diverse research, clinical, and administrative branches. Serves as the primary advisor to the division and branch chiefs on all enlisted matters. Provides supervision for 32 enlisted and 10 civilian technical and administrative support personnel. Manages personnel and administrative programs for 114 personnel assigned to the division. Responsible for the career progression of assigned personnel and counsels enlisted personnel in the areas of performance, conduct, and career development. Assists the division chief in the long-term strategic planning for the management of an annual operating budget in excess of $6.8M. -Dynamic management of enlisted resources in the reference laboratory provided rapid, accurate diagnostic services to over 200 Air Force, Army and Navy medical treatment facilities (MTFs) worldwide.-Enhanced laboratory management; saved $11 million annually for Air Force MTFs over costs required for civilian reference laboratory services; provided services faster than other reference laboratories.-Outstanding administrative efforts reduced duplication of blood lead tests expense to USAF facilities by combining Army testing and USAF reporting system; saved $400K annually.-Helped enlisted technicians meet new educational requirements by arranging for college courses to be conducted in the division; initiatives tripled the number of enlisted enrolled in Associate Degree programs.-Organized and managed teams amassing $5K for the 1994 Equestrian Competition (the Top Three largest annual fund raiser), significantly exceeding previous year’s totals and this year’s goal.–Directed process action team to improve critical laboratory result reporting.
