A 330-bed, full-service health care facility that offers medical-surgical care with more than 25 subspecialties, inpatient and outpatient services, diagnostic imaging, and a 24-hour emergency department. Directed daily financial accounting operations, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury functions for ten entities with a combined balance sheet of $300 million. • Led efforts resulting in successful $6 million refinancing of tax-exempt note with NHHEFA that included the submission of additional recently purchased equipment as collateral for the note. • Implemented a financial projection model for Senior Management and the Finance Committee to highlight the areas of concerns in future periods with scenarios using payer mix changes, reimbursement, expense, and volume assumptions. This model will help the organization start the conversation to identify and address future potential weaknesses in cash flow, capital, debt capacity, and profitability. • Successfully executed a last minute audit of the Company’s 403(b) plan with assets in eight locations valued at $60 million. Played key role on 403(b) investment committee monitoring/addressing 403(b) investment issues. • Realized $15,000 in savings by taking over the preparation and filings of the System’s eight 990 tax returns as well as preparing its two for-profit returns.• Organized one-time audit of Accounts Payable and Purchasing. • Updated and enhanced internal control memos related to accounting functions of the organization. The Cash Receipts memo alone was expanded from three to sixteen pages. • Lead liaison for the System’s Financial Statement Audits including an A-133 audit, 403(b) and Pension Audits and filings, Corporate bond ratings and filings, Insurance renewals, Medicaid Enhancement Tax filings and issues, NHHA, Workers Comp plan and investments, Board Designated Investments, and CON reporting.
