Create and automate testing of new DOCSIS 3.1 compatible cable equipment using Spirent iTest and TCL.

Developer on multinational team responsible for the development of the Synchronous Replication feature of Sybase Replication Server. This feature guarantees zero transactional data loss between source Sybase ASE and Sybase Replication Server. Primarily responsible for porting efforts to IBM AIX, HP Itanium and Sun Solaris platforms, development bug fixing, and development testing.Designed, developed and tested target database connectivity enhancements in Sybase Replication Server using C++, Oracle OCI and ODBC. The ExpressConnect enhancement allows transactional database replication directly from Sybase Replication Server to Oracle and SAP HANA databases. The feature eliminated the need for a middleware tier in the Sybase heterogeneous replication stack, thus, simplifying replication manageability and improving overall replication performance from Oracle, UDB, MSSQL, Sybase ASE databases to Oracle and SAP HANA. Worked with technical support staff and sales engineering engagements, helping them with problem analysis and code level resolutions.

Led new development, sustaining and QA testing activities for the Sybase DirectConnect for Oracle, developed using C, Oracle OCI, Sybase Open Client/Server (AIX, HP-Itanium, Linux, Solaris, Windows) . The product provides Sybase ASE and Replication Server with middle tier access and SQL compensation to an Oracle database. The team consisted of members in the US and China.Led sustaining engineering efforts for Sybase ASE Heterogeneous Data Access feature called CIS and Sybase Enhanced Full-Text Search (Verity Search). This involved problem analysis and bug fixing.Responsible for development of new features and sustaining activities for the Sybase Central DirectConnect Management plug-in written in Java and XML.Developed Installshield ISMP installers for several Sybase products, writing custom installation and configuration code using Java and JavaBeans.Developer for Sybase Studio Installer and Configurator using Java and XML. Added features, bug fixes and assisted product owners in authoring of XML installation and configuration scripts.Assisted in Sybase Replication Server to Oracle performance tuning. Gained working experience of Oracle database performance and tuning using Oracle ADDM and AWR reports.Developed Sybase TechWave demo that showed, through a practical customer example, how federated data in heterogeneous databases, documents, and ASE Web Services, could be access via a single database connection to ASE. This demo helped present some of the Sybase products in an easy-to-understand manner which effectively communicated the Sybase solution to customers at the technical conference. Onsite engagement to assist Sybase partner with migrating application to Sybase ASE and Sybase Full-Text Search and also assisted technical/product support with problem analysis involving customer product escalations.

Developed code level bug fixes for Sybase ASE Component Integration Services (CIS) and Sybase DirectConnect for Oracle using C. Worked closely with technical support, providing problem and code level analysis and emergency fixes for customer escalations, as needed.Developed and delivered technical presentations for remote teammates and technical support to share knowledge of product internals.

Provided expert level case resolution and assistance to technical support staff for Sybase Heterogeneous Database Access product stack and enabling technologies. The products included Sybase ASE (CIS feature) and all Sybase DirectConnect products. Other responsibilities included coordinating Sybase and customer resources appropriately to address escalations, engineering documentation review, technical training to internal and external customers.Additional responsibilities included administrating various Unix and VM lab machines.
