Founder

Arete

I formed Arete' as a nonprofit (501c3) entity devoted to forming communities of interest around specific philanthropic projects. Its main feature was a web based social media platform to crowdfund philanthropic projects like building fish farms, distributing malaria nets, delivering food pallets... The Arete' platform brought web scale economics to a notoriously inefficient means of matchmaking ad hoc donors with the projects that they are most passionate about. An Amerinet employment condition was that I discontinue work on Arete, it was dismantled March 2012

Senior Manager

Overland Park, Kansas, Us

During my time with Sprint, I pioneered a variety of cutting edge successful mobile products including our Downloadable content vending and delivery platform (First in the Americas, second in world), Mobile web services (first open web ecosystem in the Americas), Customizable UIs, Mobile RSS feeds... and the business case for adding WiFi to our handsets and WiFi hotspots to our mobile product portfolio. When Sprint eliminated its innovation group, I was transferred to the Wireless Application Developers Program where I managed the application developers partner website (both strategy and operations). I immediately implemented an analytics tool to identify and fix underperforming website functions. I reduced the annual operating budget 50% by moving to open source solutions and simplifying the most trafficked sections of the website. After the website maintenance was automated, I redeployed to the Business Strategy Group where I created growth strategies for Sprint's B2B wireless unit (focused on reinvigorating embedded laptop/ tablet/ net book sales). I created a growth opportunity pitch/ business case for creating Sprint B2B cloud services. In December 2009 I was offered a non-compete separation package including 1 years severance, benefits, healthcare, and annual bonus.

May 2008 - Dec 2009

Innovation / Emerging Products Group - Group Manager

Overland Park, Kansas, Us

As Sprint merged with Nextel, the Emerging Products Group (EPG) was created to discover and incubate new mobile applications/ product concepts. I was part of the EPG lead team and helped build the processes and physical facilities for the EPG from scratch.I led a group focused on identifying user needs and quantifying the value of the innovative solutions. We created a Customer Needs Framework and segmentation tool to identify and quantify new "needs based" product concepts. I won a second Presidents Award for developing the process to identify these new multi-billion dollar concepts. We prototyped the concepts on a mobile web services framework that allowed us to quickly present the concepts to user need segmented focus groups. We had several successful product launches including Mobile RSS, Mobile Web Services and a new way of selling digital content.

Senior/ Group Manager

Overland Park, Kansas, Us

A decade long career with progressively more responsibility. I started with Sprint PCS as a Competitive Intelligence Manager. While completing my MBA, I was promoted to a job in Strategic Planning managing the Industry Analysis team. My team created compelling analysis and strategies for the chief officers of the company. One strategy culminated in winning a President's Award for leading the company to build Sprint's mobile content ecosystem (recurring revenues >$1B). I led the mobile content ecosystem implementation through rotations in Product Strategy, the Mobile Device Group and eventually Product Marketing . I was a member of the cross functional 2G and 3G network launch teams, with responsibility for creating the new products to be introduced with the network upgrades. Just prior to the Sprint/ Nextel merger I managed the Wireless Portfolio Management/ Product Strategy function for our consumer group.
