Taking the shot and reaching out to businesses is the first step towards a rewarding career.The past five years with Deloitte have been great. I have developed my niche in the team I work with and they support and trust me to take a leadership role. In my current role, I support management by implementing and processing our automated tax return module. My niche has fallen into the state tax partnership tax return automations silo. I work hand in hand with Core Compliance teams as a middleman between IT developers and the Core Compliance. My focus is discussing with Core Teams to know how they prepare their state partnership tax returns and creating a web platform that bridges to a data warehouse where the "mappings" I write will allow the system to grab data from the warehouse and place the data in the tax return boxes. Our automation system will provide core teams with state returns that are 95% complete, which improves efficiency and allows the Core Team to handle more capacity during busy months.This project is new within the last five years. I am proud to be one of five original team members on a team of now 70+ globally. Our client base has also grown from 3 of Deloitte's largest investment companies to now over 145 clients in just five years. In my career at Deloitte I have worked hard to become a valued team member. Within the last three years I have taken on a senior role where I manage both US and USI (India) team members and review their work. Under the senior role I am involved in the mentorship program where I help with onboarding and training of the new hires and interns to our team. The role has taught me proper delegation and taking responsibility not only for my work, but the work of my team as well.During this remote/telework time, I have proven the skills I possess to my employer by showing high quality work through long hours and dedication to doing the job right from the start. I was trusted to work remotely when I moved from Cleveland, Ohio to the Carolinas. I enjoy remote/telework flexibility to work the hours needed to get a job done. Some days are longer than others but the work is always complete.
