EAGER, STRONG WILLED, PASSIONATE, INNOVATIVEThose are a couple of words to describe me As a first generation latino male I was the first in my family to graduate from Colorado State University with a Bachelors in Social Work. After graduation I began my career at the non profit organization "Volunteers of America (VOA)" where I specifically would work with the homeless Veteran population with assisting them in overcoming barriers towards getting into permanent stable housing.To highlight a couple of my accomplishments I was able to climb the promotional ladder and get promoted from a Case Manager to a Lead Case Manager through the program which works with veteran's throughout the state of Colorado. I was also able to build many connections and network through my time at VOA. I was happily able to get many Veteran clients with high barriers into permanent stable housing and have a high success rate of retention of housing/ supportive services for clients. I was there for 2 and a 1/2 years at VOA, grateful for the opportunity but now looking to expand my passion and commitment with other organizations. I offer experience with case management, record keeping, motivational interviewing, advanced computer knowledge, proficiency with Microsoft office, de-escalation training, Trauma informed Care, bi-lingual reading and writing (English and Spanish)and good with building rapport.
