Responsibilities included policy and product development and ongoing operations of the Agency’s lending, investment, surety bond, international trade and credit risk management programs. This included serving customers, managing distribution channels with over 5,000 financial partners, product development, operational execution, risk management and regulatory oversight. Led a team of approximately 800 direct employees and contractors. Was appointed in the Bush Administration and was the only SBA appointee to continue in the Obama Administration.Led SBA Loan Guarantee and Investment Programs that supported over $25 billion of annual financing to small businesses and had an outstanding portfolio of approximately $90 billion.Oversaw nine geographically disbursed operational centers with loan related activities. Caraustar was one of the world’s largest integrated manufacturers of recycled paperboard, serving four principal end use markets: tubes, cores and composite cans; folding cartons; gypsum facing paper and specialty products.
