Honolulu, Hi

- Worked as the Senior Civil Engineer on the City and County of Honolulu's rail transit project under a $1.39 billion dollar (US) Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) contract issued to AHJV as the Core Systems Contractor (CSC). Work includes designing and interfacing compatibility between all civil, architectural, and structural infrastructure associated with the rail transit project and AHJV's train vehicles, control systems, and O&M of the train infrastructure. - The interface management portion of this work included facilitating Interface Definition Meetings (IDMs) between the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART), AHJV, and the Fixed Facility Contractors (FFCs) associated with the design and construction of the guideway and the stations. Interfacing FFCs included companies such as Kiewit, HNTB, AECOM, URS, HDR, Anil Verma Associates, and Perkins+Will, in addition to their many subcontractors.- Work also included the direct oversight and management of AHJV's subcontractors and sub-consultants as a lead civil engineer.

- Promoted by Parsons in July 2012 with increased responsibility to work as an lead energy auditor/ energy manager by performing and overseeing facility condition assessments (FCA) and energy audits for five bases throughout the U.S. Pacific Air Force (Kunsan AB, S. Korea; Yokota AB, Japan, Misawa AB, Japan; JBER, Alaska; and Osan, S. Korea). - Worked on a LEED project in Maryland (using LEED Online) to acquire a LEED Silver status.- Worked as an energy auditor collecting and analyzing data for roughly two million square-footage of buildings located at the Kadena Air Force Base (AFB), Okinawa, Japan. Work also included development of eCOMET, life cycle cost analysis, and briefly analyzing renewable energy opportunities.- Cost estimated LEED projects for Air Force projects throughout remote locations in the South Pacific.- Worked as a "project engineer" and "safety committee chair" with helping close-out a $60 million dollar (US) construction project (Honouliuli WWTP) located on the Island of Oahu.- Completed a 45kW to 350kW solar feasibility study for a military training facility on the Island of Oahu. Also obtained NPDES permits for the same types of facilities.- Worked with a team on a mitigation monitoring report for the Guam build-up project (NAVFAC/Marines from Okinawa, Japan to Guam).- Performed field and office remediation work experience pertaining to the Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) located at the U.S. Air Force bases on Oahu, Hawaii and Guam.

- Worked as a Specifications Writer/Transportation (Civil) Engineer for the California Department of Transportation. This involved creating bid packages (e.g., plans, specs., and cost estimates) for multiple storm-damaged, road rehabilitation projects.

Arcata, Ca

- Also volunteered as a Docent for the Schatz Energy Research Center (SERC) for a short while.

State College, Pa

- Traveled to Pennsylvania during the 2007 summer to work under Dr. Bruce Logan on Microbial Fuel Cell technology while funded by a National Science Foundation program.

Quetzaltenango, Guatemala

- Traveled to Guatemala to work for a Non-Profit Organization named the Appropriate Infrastructure Development Group (AIDG). The work consisted of designing a 16kW micro-hydro electric system.

Arcata, Ca

- Completed a pre-liminary engineering report/ surface water assessment that was later used for funding ($400k) through both the IHS-PHS and the EPA.

Pocatello, Id

- Assessed an aquifer on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation that was contaminated with ethylene dibromide (EDB). Created an Excel database to produce forms necessary for right-of-way access.

Costa Rica

- This summer internship took place on the eastern coast of Costa Rica and consisted of the collection of Leatherback sea turtle data (e.g., time of sighting, carapace length and width, number of eggs, ect.), re-allocation of nesting/eggs, and educational activities for visitors.
