I started my career in the private sector, working in loss prevention and private investigations, including surveillance for private and government insurance companies. Over time, I expanded into security consulting, focusing on crime prevention through design and threat and risk assessments.In 2000, I joined the public sector, and in 2008, I was appointed Departmental Security Officer (DSO) for Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation. Since then, I’ve been responsible for overseeing security operations across our unique sites, including a working farm, an active airport, and three museums.I manage a budget of over $1 million and lead a dedicated team of security officers. Together, we handle personnel security (PERSEC), security systems, and daily guard operations. My responsibilities also include the corporate health and safety program and coordinating the Business Continuity Plan.Throughout my career, I’ve handled high-profile investigations and managed direct-action situations, resolving them peacefully and tactfully. I’ve also been privileged to assist individuals in crisis, helping them find alternatives during difficult times.I’m proud to work in such a dynamic environment and contribute to the safety and security of our staff, visitors, and operations.
