The department is responsible for the physics in the treatment planning system RayStation and is divided into four cross-functional teams: the Brachy, Linac, Proton and Carbon teams. We strive at providing the best solutions for our customers leading to better treatments to cancer patients. Since January 2018, I have grown the department substantially to meet the increasing needs of software developing physicists in the project organization. I have been responsible for the recruitment of around 20 new employees to the group and have also participated in several other recruitments. I put a lot of effort into leadership both by coaching individuals and participating actively in strategy decisions of our products. I believe in the strength of giving freedom to individuals to drive innovation. In my role, I aim at bridging the gap between research/prototype development and product development, and thereby involve more people in innovation processes.I set up and lead several research collaborations with partner clinics and companies in Europe, US and Asia.
