Ford has held supervisory positions in residential and commercial construction companies. As a supervisor, he gained valuable experience in project management. Ford has added value through his talent for planning, organizing, and directing the workflows of large groups of teams.Since returning to the University of Oregon, Ford has moved though several instructional positions. While teaching Microsoft Excel during the summer 2014 term, he redesigned the course around a new instructional technology and radically changed the class environment to increase student engagement. Ford’s evaluations were the highest ever received for that course. His understanding of the student experience and eye for future trends have earned him the support and admiration of several senior instructors and senior administrators in the Lundquist College for Business.During his first year as an adjunct instructor, Erik redesigned the Microsoft Excel course to incorporate authentic business case studies. He also created an online version of the Excel course using his own design and tools available through the school’s learning management system. In the spring of that year, Erik created an experimental version of BA101 Introduction to Business using a new textbook, technologies, and business simulations. The instructor led and online Excel courses, as well as, the new BA101 course have received outstanding student evaluations. Ford is very enthusiastic about marketing. He is excited by the theory and application of consumer behavior models and how new trends and issues affect those models. He has led several groups of university interns in developing strategies to market responses involving new innovative products and evolving technologies.
