Erik Francis graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked on composite research and led teams of students in mechanical design and fabrication. He has extensive experience with control system, vehicle dynamics, fluid dynamics, solid modeling, finite element analysis, and rapid manufacturing and prototyping.Erik Francis was an Engineering Director for the UC Berkeley solar vehicle team CalSol. He coordinated a team of students to design and fabricate subsystems for a road legal solar vehicle. He conducted trade studies, finite element analysis, and design reviews in addition to holding multiple weekly meetings to review progress and new developments.
