I am a serial investor and advisor to startups that pursue profitable growth strategies with a social impact component. Current areas of focus are sustainability and societal development through strategic use of technology. I am also a founder and leader of the Bacaanda Foundation, a non-profit that seeks to help develop rural communities in southern Mexico through improvements in education and technology. We are currently building a state-of-the-art internet transmission network to provide wifi to indigenous Zapotec schools in Oaxaca state. We are also developing an educational curriculum focused on Spanish and Math that is being delivered to children through iPadsAlong with my son, I also own Divers Paradise in Key Biscayne, Florida. In addition to providing recreational snorkeling and scuba diving services, DP runs an Instructor Development Center with a heavy emphasis on marine sustainability and climate change preparedness. We are located next door to the University of Miami's marine studies campus and assist in UM's reef restoration and shark tagging programs.
