New Belgium Brewery was experiencing high amounts of spoiled beer due to oxygen contamination during the brew process. Utilized process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) to identify highest contamination areas. Used a Hoffman Pentair Intake to measure and collect data on oxygen concentration levels throughout the brew process. Analyzed environmental impact of greenhouse gases. Wrote and presented an engineering report providing courses of action for existing manufacturing process improvements.• Projected savings of roughly $1.0 M per year in reduction of spoiled beer by lowering the DO concentration levels• Proved with statistical analysis and experimental results that the current process of carbon dioxide blanket theory was ineffective at keeping oxygen from dissolving into the beer
