MarketWise (NASDAQ:MKTW) is a digital media, b2c, subscription model and SAAS business focused on empowering investors through high quality financial research and software tools.Erik oversees the Company’s overall financial activities, including controllership, tax, treasury, analysis, investor relations and financial operations. Erik also leads corporate strategy and value maximization initiatives. Prior to joining Marketwise, Erik was CFO of a publicly traded telecommunications company where he played a key role in building and scaling the business, leading the public offering, and guiding a successful exit of the business in 2022. Erik began his career with Arthur Andersen and KPMG in the Assurance and Advisory practice working closely with a range of clients from pre-IPO startups to Fortune 500 market leaders. Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hillsdale College, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School (Advanced Management Program).

Trilogy owned and operated telecommunications assets in emerging markets. Focused on mobile and broadband, Trilogy built and scaled businesses with the last exit occurring in 2023.-Oversee global finance organization across multiple geographies. - Promote and foster a culture of accountability, humility, curiosity, collaboration, transparency, and ownership (think like an owner)- Led private to public transition in 2017 as primary liaison with bankers and investors- Built and developed team to comply with SEC requirements (registration statements, 10-Q, 10-K, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc)- Alongside CEO, lead market-facing activities including quarterly earnings calls, Analyst events, and marketing/roadshow efforts- Manage complex capital structure, including aggregate debt issuances and refinancings of over $1 billion and serve as primary interface with lenders and ratings agencies- Partner with Board of Directors to support value maximization initiatives including, divesting non-core assets for over $100 million in 2019, and monetizing core asset at Enterprise Value exceeding $1 billion in 2022.

- Supported key operational initiatives to drive subscriber ARPU growth and reduce churn which contributed to sustained double-digit EBITDA growth- Led development of global consolidated cash management dashboard to ensure adequate Company liquidity- Enhanced global KPI dashboard to provide Board of Directors with actionable business insights with an emphasis on the primary value drivers such as ARPU, CAC, Churn, bundling/cross-selling- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, based on the company's strategic objectives and value creation targets

- Experience solving complex accounting/reporting/regulatory challenges, with industry-leading clients in a variety of sectors including Weyerhaeuser, Costco, Alaska Airlines, Aquantive, Outerwall/Redbox.- Gained an extensive foundation of "Big 4" public accounting experience serving in a series of progressive accounting and assurance roles- Served as the Audit Growth Manager for KPMG’s Pacific Northwest business unit in a strategic and operational leadership role focused on market development and growth of the practice.
