Erik Opstad has 30+ years of private-sector experience in Alaska's petroleum industry on matters including strategic planning, well work operations, commercial analysis, production optimization, completions, drilling, well design and coordination work, as well as serving as an & Expert Witness on tax and other litigation matters. He has worked North Slope and Cook Inlet oil field projects as well as international ventures in Russia and South America. Prior to joining Accumulate Energy Alaska Inc. as the General Manger of Alaska Operations, Mr. Opstad spent 8 years as a principal and General Manager of Savant Alaska LLC where he conducted exploration operations, and oversaw redevelopment operations of the Badami oil field which Savant purchased from BP. His oil and gas career began in 1980 at Standard Alaska Production Company working on Prudhoe Bay Equity Re-determination. He continued to work on Prudhoe Bay projects with BP until leaving in 1987 to establish his own operating company that subsequently engaged in a wide spectrum of oil & gas activities in and out of Alaska..Mr. Opstad holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Geology from the University of Iowa and is a licensed Professional Geologist in Alaska. He is and active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Association of Drilling Engineers, American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Petrophysicists & Well Log Analysts.
