I worked at a Madrid primary school, teaching students from 1st-4th grade. A big part of my job was designing fun and interactive games, PowerPoints and activities to improve the students' English while keeping them engaged. Working with students who struggled to understand my native tongue presented many challenges and forced me to constantly adapt my ways of teaching and communicating. Although the children were scared to learn a new language and most of the time wanted to give up, I would net let them. Some children learned best through one-on-one conversation, while others learned best through story time with picture books. I can proudly say I made a difference in each of my students' lives and education, and I believe I made learning English fun for each and every child.

My internship at the Conference Board allowed me to utilize many of my skills and work with several departments across the company. I partook in the 2019 Sustainability Summit, assisting the digital media team with marking exact times of important events and speakers, as well as editing video for future promotional and recap videos. I also assisted the digital media team by creating a guide regarding social media accounts and influencers the company should be following, interacting with and keeping a close eye on. Using platforms such as Hootsuite and Right Relevance, I curated lists of thousands of social media accounts using keywords that were appropriate for The Conference Board’s goals and objectives. I also assisted the digital media team by constantly editing articles and research done on the company website, and posted on several of the companies social media platforms through the use of Hootsuite. I also attended weekly training sessions with the video and audio department. During these sessions I developed skills to make and edit videos and promotional messages on Adobe and shadowed the main studio engineer as he would record podcasts or put together content for the website. I would also use the editing studio to assist the studio engineer with whatever project he was working on at the time.
I worked with a team of students, assisting chefs who may need help with food preparation. I facilitated the closing process by helping employees who are less experienced and worked to make sure that everything is done as quickly and efficiently as possible. I received employee of the month honors for October 2018, which is given to one student each month who shows a strong work ethic and helps create a positive work environment.
I wrote articles and ran a podcast for syracuse-hoops.com, a Syracuse basketball content and fan page with over 19.8k followers on Instagram. I did the podcast with two other writers for the website, who also helped me run the Twitter page for the site. As a die hard Syracuse fan and SU student, writing and podcasting about the Orange allowed me to present my knowledge of the team, be passionate and provided me with the opportunity to have my voice heard by thousands of sports fans.

Working for a news station in the number one media market has prepared me to work anywhere in the world. Throughout my summer at NY1, I conducted extensive research on NYC politics and elections. Using this research, I worked with the digital media team to help create a voter guide that provided voters across New York City with information regarding candidates and voting times. I also helped organize and host the station’s annual scholar athlete award luncheon, which was attended by the 14 award recipients and State Senator Jesse Hamilton. The event was a huge success. I also improved my writing and editing skills tremendously while At NY1. I wrote articles for the station’s website based on news reports from the reporters, as well as developed creative content and stories to engage Instagram viewers. My internship at NY1 also helped me learn to manage and create content for busy and popular social media accounts. I posted weekly stories on the NY1 Instagram page, which has over 50k followers, and every week I would evaluate the viewing and engagement statistics from each story I posted, taking note of what to improve for future stories.

This internship provided me with the opportunity to combine my passion for talking and sports, and also taught me about the world of sales. Once a week I would make over 20 sales calls to potential single game and season ticket buyers for several Syracuse University sports. I also assisted the sales team during the 2018 spring football game, where I was responsible for selling 10 new football season tickets. Rejection is hard, but working in sales taught me that it may take 100 people to say "no" before one person says "yes."

Co-produced the weekly freshman practice show every Sunday for two semesters. I trained new Citrus TV members, showing them how to use the cameras, prompter and write their own scripts. I would also give students who went on-air for the show feedback to make sure they did not make the same mistakes the next time they were on the show.
