Managed the creation of New Clinical trial processing tools for Image Guided Therapy QA Center at Washington University.• Hired and performed training for a IT support person and a Biomedical programmer. • Created requirements for new servers ordered & setup. • Loaded new servers with XEN VM environment, currently running 40 machines: Mix of CentOS 5.x, and Windows Server 2008.• Transitioned work from existing old servers to new systems.• Moved Clinical trials Database from old HPUX Sybase DB to new CentOS PostgreSQL DB using PERL scripts to modify the data then generate the SQL to create and populate the new database. Updated legacy VB6 / Access SQL to access the new database. • Created new PERL based product ‘DiCompiler’ for use by end-users to anonymize and securely upload patient digital data. • One of two developers that created new Clinical trial processing tools for ITC.• Written in Perl, JavaScript, C, using JSON & jQuery.• Import /Export & Send DICOM data sets.• Tools to detect and repair various DICOM issues (correct data linkage, correct Structure naming, Plan / case identification, …)• Anonymization, Data correction, versioning of case data and change tracking.• Creation of Dose volume histograms, Summing doses, Structure creation.

Managed development & release of 5 versions of PrecisePLAN growing product revenue from $3.2 to $13.6 Million. Product development of an Oncology Radiation Treatment Planning system from requirements definition through Verification / Validation and transfer to manufacturing. Responsibilities include: hiring, training, reviews, team creation, project sizing, development prioritization, maintaining department productivity. Responsible for the maintenance & support of a FDA GMP compliant quality system for a class II medical device. Also meets European medical device directive ISO 9001 (en4600). Managed transition from local UNIX/Linux development environment to distributed development of a Windows .NET based medical device.

Senior Management Team member that grew company revenue from $15M to $60M in 2004. Responsible for project sizing, scheduling for product prioritization, team creation, maintaining department productivity, staffing. • Reported to CEO • Managed staff of 50 with 6 direct reports. • Managed Capital and Expense budget of $6M/yr. Key Accomplishments: • Grew the development department from 20 – 50 employees. • Created and managed multifunctional teams of Software Developers, Medical Physicists, Technical Writers, Customer Support Specialists, Graphic Artists, and Quality Assurance Engineers. • Created standards and managed development processes compliant with ISO 9000-2000. • Completed 11 major releases of CMS' flagship product: Medical Oncology Treatment planning system (TPS) Focus / XiO. • Converted main product from HP UNIX to Linux on PC hardware.

Architected an Internet application using Netscape's Enterprise server and LiveWire running on a UNIX server. This product used HTML and client/server side JavaScript. The server side JavaScript uses a cursor Database interface to an Informix DB and a C interface to an existing system. Rapid deployment system, with first deliverable within 4 months of a signed contract.

Managed the development of an Object Oriented Medical Imaging Communication framework API based upon the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard. Provided initial scheduling, budgeting, and manpower planning. Hired team of fifteen developers. Purchased and set up hardware and software for the team. Two year effort, with the project at approximately 1/2 million lines of C++ code.

In charge of the development of a medical imaging workstation (PDS). Initially was lead in three-man development team, then became manager as group grew to seven. • This was a ground breaking product, the first commercial multi-modality diagnostic workstation for radiologists and clinicians. • The implementation required development of many tools, imaging algorithms, and utilization of medical imaging standards.

Designed, programmed, and tested a terminal controller software package implemented on a Harris minicomputer. Project was to be used by Spain’s Social Security system.

Initially coded Z8000 Asm on the administrative processors for DSC's entire line of long distance switches. Developed a C pre-processor for the VAX.

Developed communications modules in PLI & Asm on 8086. Projects included interfacing a 3270 terminal controller with a Harris Remote Job Entry system.
