I am a sophomore at Creighton University with aspirations of obtaining a career in finance or technology. My analytical mindset, collaborative work style, and ability to navigate complex challenges positions me well for the fast-paced nature of these fields. In my first year at Creighton, I was one of 60 students selected to participate in a nationally recognized freshman leadership program. This program gave me a unique opportunity to develop my leadership skills through community service projects, engaging seminars, peer mentoring, and academic coursework. The knowledge and skills gained by participating in these experiences have helped prepare me for leadership roles in my future career.Through hands-on projects in my classes, I am actively building relevant skills to apply in a professional environment. These skills include the use of excel to analyze large datasets, create visual dashboards, and develop actionable insights for decision-making. My coursework in financial accounting gave me an opportunity to develop a fictitious company where I applied accounting principles and techniques, maintained an accurate general ledger by inputting key financial entries, and prepared key financial statements.Outside of the classroom, I serve as a student manager for the men’s basketball team where I support various operational activities for practices and games. This role has allowed me to develop critical skills in project coordination, time management, data analysis, and teamwork.
