The Benchmark Electronics B.V. facility in Almelo, the Netherlands covers Design Engineering and Production capabilities of (sub-) product and/or assemblies. A Project Leader covers the Project Management for customers having Design Engineering and or Production multidiscipline projects on products of which the (delegated) Design responsibility is within and production is running at Benchmark Electronics facilities.Apart from the Technical Consulting function to the customer, also all running quality improvement projects and product improvement or product enhancement projects are under his full project management. Reports of the status of these projects as well as priority negotiations and assosiated costs of the activities are on a weekly basis directly to the customer.The Senior Project Leader has, apart from above, the responsibility over Benchmark Electronics Project Management including project planning and coordinating, internal man-hour consumption per project and registration on all the running customer projects within Sustaining Engineering. These within the Benchmark Almelo facility (Design Engineering and Production) as well as in Benchmark satellite production sites.Customer negotiations about the projects commercial aspects like, workload per project, priority and cost are part of the job. Umbrella Customer commercial negotiations are done by the Program Manager, assigned to the customer. The Senior Project Leader / Senior Design Engineer is also the technical and commercial backup to the Program Manager.

Almelo specializes in development and production of measurement instruments like Oscilloscopes (Bench Oscilloscopes and Handheld ScopeMeter), Bench Multimeters, Recorders and TV Generators.The Product Development Engineer is working as team member in a project team.My role in these teams was the electronic hardware development of specific parts of Oscilloscopes, like; Attenuator, Final X-Amplifier and Z-Amplifier.At the end of my latest project, I took over the responsibility of product introduction on the production floor, as well as production process and product improvement projects. Later followed by coordination of product extension projects and the production introduction of these.

Philips, T&M Division was part of the Philips Company.First situated in Enschede and Almelo.Enschede was specialized in Bench Oscilloscopes, Almelo was specialized in Multimeters and Pen-RecordersThe Product Development Engineer is working as team member in a project team.I started in Enschede as junior team member of a project team on Oscilloscopes.In the early 1990 the Enschede facility was integrated in the Almelo facility.My role in these teams was the electronic hardware development of specific parts of Oscilloscopes, like; Attenuator design, Digitalization circuits of measuring signals, Final X-Amplifier and Z-Amplifier.
