Amsterdam AI, technology for people is a collaboration between government, academic, medical and other organisations in Amsterdam to help the city develop and deploy responsible technology in AI. As strategic communications expert I facilitate engagement around this exciting topic. Using solid communications strategies, I facilitate the buzz around the AI hotspot that is Amsterdam, adding societal and economic value along the way.

Zwemschool Schermer was het bedrijf van mijn vader Ron van Zwol. Samen met mijn twee zussen heb ik het bedrijf overgenomen toen hij omkwam in een verkeersongeluk. Het is een kleinschalige zwemschool in Hoorn, waar zo’n 1000 zwemmers per week zwemles krijgen. Naast de zwemlessen voor het zwem-ABC worden diverse zwemlessen en activiteiten aangeboden voor zwemmers in de leeftijd van 0-99. De organisatie heeft een ontwikkelambitie om te professionaliseren naar een moderne, meer effectieve en meer transparante organisatie. Belangrijk hierbij is dat de kernwaarden voor de organisatie: kleinschaligheid en gezelligheid, gewaarborgd blijven. Naast een goede dienstverlening focust zwemschool Schermer op kwaliteit en kostenbesparing ten aanzien van de te leveren producten en diensten.

As a coordinator I manage all communication around this central theme and focus on societal profiling of Utrecht Life Sciences at the local, national and international level.

Naturalis is a well know institution of natural history. As a science communicator, my main focus was on the public profiling of Naturalis as 'more than a museum'. Defining and communicating the corporate image of Naturalis to relevant stakeholders as well as to the general public. In this role managed the science communication for over 200 scientists working on biodiversity.

My PhD research at the department of Ecological Science was focused on the role of invasive species in arctic ecosystems. We studied both the impact of invasive species on ecosystem services as well as the pathways by which invasions might occur.
