Recent college graduate of Northern Illinois University, Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Theatre Studies and Psychology. During my time at NIU, I have been apart of several theatrical shows while maintain a full class schedule and working part-time at a local retail store. This has given me the opportunity to be involved in multiple areas, and develop my skills in sales, communication, teamwork, and leadership. I am passionate about what I do, and I am always looking for ways to improve myself and my school/work life. With this, I have found Penguin Players - a unique group modeled off of Penguin Project and intended for those who have aged out of that program. This has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences, and I have gotten the opportunity to not only work one-on-one with an artist as a mentor, but with everyone as an assistant director as well.This captures what I truly want to do, which is make art with and for those who need guidance through their own journeys. We discover that it is not about the disability or the trauma that one has experienced, but it is about how we cope and make it through them; and, that is what I am most passionate about.
