Program coordinator of Read Fresno, in conjunction with the Jan and Bud Richter Center at Fresno State and the Fresno Housing Authority. Oversee staff employed via Federal Work Study. The mission of Read Fresno is to provide literacy and school success services to K-2/3 children in targeted schools and neighborhoods. This includes but is not limited to literacy services in daytime and afterschool programs at the school site, afterschool programming at neighborhood resource centers, and participation in resiliency programs such as drumming, yoga, and Saturday Sports

Assisted Coordinator of Media and Communications on special projects that vary from marketing, media, website,and social media campaigns, as well as events that promote the services of the division. Other duties included assisting with Bulldogs Tell social media storytelling in both generating new ideas and stories as well as posting content. Hired staff of 25-28 students to serve as orientation leaders, welcoming all new freshman and transfer students at Fresno State. The program employs approximately 20 current undergraduate and graduate students for 13 summer orientations. Welcome freshman and transfer students to university life; provides resources and information on how to make the most out of their time at the university; help students register for their first semester of classes; volunteer for NODA: Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education-”From the Ground Up” Region II Conference hosted by California State University, Fresno; attended by approximately 400 university orientation program directors and student leaders from the region.

My experience is in print journalism, public relations, social media and community engagement.In the fall 2014 semester, I wrote for the Sanger Herald and the Selma Enterprise, two newspapers that are both published weekly, as part of Dr. Gary Rice's MCJ 190 Community Journalism course. In the spring 2015 semester, I worked as part of a team of six students, developing content for the Fresno State MCJ Department's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. I was also a New Media Communications Intern for the Mountain West Network and Fresno State Athletics. In January 2016, I was part of an international service-learning trip to Fiji with 20 Fresno State students and three faculty members. The trip was centered around community development and cultural exchange. I will be collaborating with four multimedia students in an independent study with Professor Jes Therkelsen to produce an international documentary about the trip. In fall 2016, I was enrolled in a student-run public relations firm called TALK: Strategic Solutions and Promotions. My client was the Central Valley Promise, a new campaign being implemented in five K-12 school districts across the Valley that provides a pathway to attend a local community college and/or university. I also began to plan for my strategic communication plan for the College of Arts and Humanities as part of my honors project.
