As a speech-language pathologist I provided diagnostic and intervention services to individuals across the lifespan. In this role, I provided services to clients with with fluency, speech sound disorders, language delays and disorders, Autism, and feeding and swallowing difficulties.

As a clinical fellow, I provide services for individuals with hearing loss at all stages of life. I also provide speech-language therapy for children enrolled in the Washtenaw County ISD Deaf/Hard of Hearing Program. I create and implement treatment programs that are designed to address the development of listening and spoken language skills for individuals with hearing loss.

As an SLP graduate student intern, I conducted diagnostic evaluations (including bedside swallow studies, modified barium swallow studies, and speech-language evaluations) for adult patients, provided speech, language, and swallowing intervention for patients with aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, and cognitive-communication impairments, and collaborated with a medical team to determine appropriate plan of care for patients. Additionally, I recorded, analyzed, and maintained accurate documentation using an electronic medical record system. I was responsible for educating patients and family members regarding rationale for dietary recommendations, the SLP treatment plan, and patients' progress towards meeting therapy goals.

As an SLP student intern, I conduct diagnostic evaluations (including modified barium swallow studies) for adult and pediatric patients who have sustained traumatic brain injuries. I plan and conduct intervention for patients in both individual and group settings, and record, analyze, and maintain accurate documentation. I participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings to review patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

Through this experience, I provided speech-language therapy for children enrolled in the Washtenaw County ISD Deaf/Hard of Hearing Program. The caseload included children ranging in age from preschool through 12th grade. I conducted evaluations, therapy, and documentation for these services, and I also assisted in the creation of IEP reports for faculty and parent meetings. I created treatment programs that were designed to address the development of listening and spoken language skills for children with hearing loss.

As a University of Toledo graduate student, I conducted screenings and diagnostic evaluations for diverse clinical populations and utilized evidence-based practice to develop individualized treatment plans. I implemented therapeutic interventions in individual and group therapy settings for adult and pediatric patients with a variety of communication and cognitive disorders including articulation, language, voice, hearing loss, aphasia, and augmentative and alternative communication.During my time at the University of Toledo Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, I planned, organized, and implemented prevention, intervention, and support programs in the community for individuals with communication disorders as part of a collaborative team, including a pediatric playgroup, a writing workshop for adolescents, and a disability awareness presentation for elementary school children. I organized and developed programs to led peers in a learning community with the goal of deepening knowledge and skills through activities including Journal Club, Make-it Take-it, peer modeling, and other innovative adult learning strategies.
