Responsibilities include budgeting, planning events, and tracking participation for the Volunteer Learning Team; designing and delivering relevant in-person and virtual adult learning opportunities; writing and distributing bi-weekly bulletins and bi-annual newsletter; building and maintaining a volunteer database and website; and developing processes and procedures to improve the facilitator experience. Notable projects include writing and delivering Foundations of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Facilitating Adult Learning curricula; planning and facilitating in-person and virtual conferences; and creating a coaching/mentoring program.

Coached diverse volunteer community leaders. Responsibilities included recruiting and training adults from different cultures; ensuring high quality youth programming in historically underserved areas; and effectively managing communication with families for whom English was not a first language. Successes included higher than average retention levels for volunteers and youth.

Designed and led Girl Scout programming in under-resourced schools and housing communities. Responsibilities included teaching 3 Girl Scout classes at Aki Kurose Middle School; taking 50+ Girl Scouts to overnight camp; and fully including a Girl Scout with special needs. Key projects included partnering with Seattle Parks & Recreation to transition the school-day initiative to an after-school program; collaborating with the Marketing Department to diversify their photography portfolio; and working with Philanthropy on a videography project that earned over $300,000 for camp scholarships.

Coordinated summer conferences and guest housing program for a post-secondary state institution. Responsibilities included hiring, training, and supervising a 25 person staff; organizing an annual 300+ participant volunteer program to move students into residential campus housing; developing streamlined communication system for guest housing; collecting, inputting, and analyzing data; transcribing meetings; and providing excellent customer care to conference participants and guests.

Coordinated disability accommodations for a global network of high-stakes test-takers. Responsibilities included recruitment, training, tracking, and placing specialized service providers using a proprietary database. Achievements include being named the highest performing employee.

Designed, implemented, and evaluated cross-cultural educational experiences in China. Responsibilities included writing and publishing short-course curricula used by 1000+ students; designing and implementing marketing events to attract clients and drive sales; combining immersive content, innovative technology, and engaging methods to teach English to 126 Chinese children aged 4-12 who achieved an average of 95% on assessments.

Led the Spanish Department and coordinated community service for a private school serving youth under the poverty line. Responsibilities included writing, implementing, and evaluating 3 project-based AP prep curricula; researching and creating a vertically aligned scope and sequence to ensure standardized language learning; planning, preparing, and teaching middle and high school Spanish classes; advising students on college prep and personal essay writing; and mentoring 45 students aged 11-18 in the Rotary Interact Club.

Designed and facilitated youth programming for Alaska Shield Disaster Response Drill. Responsibilities included developing and implementing a full day of age-appropriate activities for 300+ students grades K-12; presenting two sessions on tailored educational outreach to over 100 educators and administrators at the Homeland Security Spring Disaster Preparedness Conference 2012; and drafting templates for original games to allow for publication and distribution by Homeland Security.

Taught elementary and high school classes on a wide range of subjects including AP Literature, Calculus, and Spanish. Responsibilities included quickly learning and delivering content; building rapport and actively managing different classrooms; and collaborating with paraeducators to support students with special needs.

Acted as a sustainable development agent in Nicaragua, Central America. Responsibilities included teacher training, community mapping, peer counseling, and collaboration with local governments. Core projects included orienting and advising four cycles of incoming volunteers; modeling 74 participative natural science classes; developing and implementing a co-planning model with 6 multi-grade, Spanish-speaking teachers; providing basic emergency response training including First Aid and CPR; producing 800 pounds of organic compost; establishing nurseries and transplanting 205 trees; constructing school gardens; planning and executing forums reaching over 300 community leaders; working with local agencies to revise their Community Environmental Action Plan; and recording an educational radio program.

Designed and presented English and theater-based curricula to 70 students, aged 12-21.
