Erika Capek leads the United States marketing and business development team for the region across 13 different offices. Working side-by-side the senior leadership team, she is responsible for guiding the long-term strategic direction of the firm including the expansion of design, consulting and advisory services. Erika also collaborates globally with Buro Happold’s award-winning project teams in the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In her role, Erika oversees the US team responsible for RFP responses, project interviews, thought leadership events and media opportunities. As an advocate of high-performance engineering design, she constantly strives to showcase the value Buro Happold brings to its projects and clients – from iconic museums and performing arts centers to some of the world’s most sustainable commercial and mixed-use developments. Erika is also a member of Buro Happold’s Diversity and Inclusion Forum and consistently works to highlight the firm’s unique people, culture, and ideas. With a journalism background, Erika is an award-winning reporter who previously wrote for regional and national newspapers. She served on the Board for the Society for Marketing Professional Services' (SMPS) New York Chapter as Director of Communications from 2017 to 2018.
