About Erika Hanson

I have a deep love for plant life, and a deep respect for horticulture. Self-educated, yet always motivated to learn more, I enrolled, and graduated the School of Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden. I have since had the pleasure of knowing and working with many of the greatest gardeners and horticulturists in the U.S. and abroad. For the past seven years I have held the position of head gardener on an estate outside of New York City where I continue to garden today. To be accessible to others, I started a garden coaching and consulting firm, Living Colors Landscape and Gardens. My relentless work ethic and deep passion earned me the coveted position of horticulturist at Martha Stewart's Bedford home. Since then, I have established a growing garden design and land care company, Anthropek Gardens Inc.My gardening blog, and business website keep me busy writing. I look forward continuing to write more in future, publishing my observations and expertise in print media. I lecture to various garden clubs on topics ranging from compost tea to container gardening. Public speaking and teaching are areas of my career that I look forward to doing more of. I am always looking for travel opportunities to see plants of the world, and learning how to grow them in mine.Specialties: Estate gardening. Organic gardening. Vegetable gardening. Garden design.
