I am a first-year graduate student accepted into Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s (IUP) PhD program of School Psychology. My commitment to this program stems from my aspirations to work with children for the purpose of providing equitable and accessible education and integrating culturally competent and inclusive tools and concepts within the classroom to enhance achievement. In my undergraduate experience at IUP, I engaged in the development and execution of a research project, volunteered hours by servicing minority students in support of their academic success and community engagement, and planned events and discussions to prosper mental health, create community, and encourage the overall success for students. Today, my current opportunities as a GSA for IUP’s housing department and GA for IUP’s Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs program will lead me to enhance my skills in communication, collaboration, planning, and servicing students.
