I work with Dr. Jakowec and graduate students researching Parkinson's Disease mechanisms, specifically pertaining to neuroplasticity in the basal ganglia. We use rodent animal models lesioned with MPTP to explore the potentially neuroprotective or therapeutic effects of exercise on the injured brain.

I assist with course grading, lead lectures and panels, and hold weekly office hours for QBIO 490: Multi-Omic Data Analysis, a course designed to introduce undergraduates to computational biology research through hands-on bioinformatics projects.

I work in the lab of Dr. Ullah through the Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP). We conduct analysis of RNA-seq datasets from colon cancer patients to identify differentially expressed genes associated with the disease.
