Worked with the environmental team developing and implementing the waste disposal plan for the Reclamation and Closure Proposal. The project included removing and disposing of old camp facilities, used haul truck tires, sands plant foundation and used HDPE pipes. Final project for 2011 construction season was project management of the Leach Cap Cover. Project required coverage of roughly 250,000 sqm with 0.5m of glacial till compacted to form an impermeable layer. The till was then covered by 1.5m+ of overburden and reclaimed to a natural slope of 25 to 28 degrees to provide a media for organic growth. The project utilized (15) operators, (1) Hitachi 5500 27 m3 bucket diesel hydraulic front shovel, (1) Letourneau 1400 21 m3 bucket front end loader, (4) Euclid 250 tonne haul trucks, (2) CAT D10 track dozers, (1) Komatsu D155 track dozer, (2) CAT sheepfoot/smooth drum rollers and (4) Komatsu/CAT 25-30 tonne articulated trucks. Project was finalized with the re-vegetation of Leach Cap Cover with local first nations stake holders.
