My master’s thesis focused on enhancing a unit test generation tool for Python (called Pynguin), addressing the challenge of parameter optimization. Given the uniqueness of each codebase and the countless adjustable parameters offered by the tool, my approach deployed a reinforcement learning algorithm to dynamically optimize these parameters in real-time and find the optimal values. This involved extensive use of Python, reinforcement learning libraries, and the deployment of Linux virtual machines and Docker containers for a comprehensive development, testing, and evaluation process.
