Key-holding lead, responsible for operating the store and delegating work in the absence of the general manager. Responsible for inventory integrity, ordering/stock-management, cash handling, and other general retail practices.

I managed day-to-day operations of an antique store including sales, acquisitions, and merchandizing. I was responsible for building and maintaining the supplier network of estate liquidators. I was charged with building an online presence so that customers have a reason to come to the location. I was also in charge of managing online auctioning – many items in the acquisition process are part of larger estates. These items often do not fit the theme of the shop, so must be sold to the wider audience found online. The store turned a profit after the third month in business.

I managed the end to end on-site business for Geek Squad in West Michigan. This includes the remote management of up to 45 installation and repair technicians, systems implementation, performance management, cost control, and efficiency.

Due to many years of success before I was head of the department, our bench had the highest expected revenue projections for any Geek Squad department in the state of Michigan. We hit and exceeded those budgets, regularly having more actual revenue dollars than stores located in major metropolitan areas. We implemented a labor model based on a zones for each technician that was adapted company-wide and is still in use today, ten years after its original rollout. This allowed for maximum coverage, while places technicians in areas that were best suited to their talents.
