Executive Summary / Bio:Erik was appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer (COO) at CakeBoxx Technologies in February 2024. Prior to this appointment, Erik spent time as the Director for Corporate Security at NFI Industries; as well as being based in the Netherlands with Merck, Sharp and Dohme (Merck Co, Inc.), as the Associate Director for Supply Chain Security - Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). During his tenure with Merck he led all supply chain security functions within the EMEA region to include extensive oversight over procurements, clinical trial shipments, and large bulk movements of pharmaceutical and vaccine shipments. He was instrumental in securing both commercial and donation shipments to Ukraine during the Ukraine/Russia conflict; working with multiple internal/external partners and stakeholders to ensure that safe and efficient operations were achieved.Previously, Erik served as the VP/Corporate Security at Panalpina. In this capacity, he oversaw all global supply chain risk (security) aspects of the company’s major accounts, representing over one-third (CHF 500+ million) of gross profits. In February 2015, in addition to his Corporate role, Erik became the Head of Security for the Middle East, Africa & CIS. During Erik’s time with Panalpina he was responsible for increasing Corporate Security's presence profile throughout the organization. This included enforcing company and customer requirements throughout the global supply chain network, oversight of suppliers/providers, building strong relationships with clients, and developing global business opportunities.Additionally, Erik spent over nine years with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in several leadership positions, managing the development of policies, programs, regulations and acquisition initiatives, while working in partnership with the private sector to produce effective security measures for international and domestic operations. Erik also provided professional consulting services in both the Private and Federal sectors, working with Alta Via Consulting, LLC, as a Portfolio Manager/Enterprise Architect for the U.S. Department of Defense; as well as an independent/freelance Consultant. Erik possesses an MBA from the University of Maryland-Robert H. Smith School of Business, an International Market-Economist degree from Niels Brock-Copenhagen Business College, and a BS in Aeronautics from the University of North Dakota-John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences. Erik also holds an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument & Multiengine ratings.
