Through the last 30 years, I have focused on a career in public safety through my military, law enforcement and investigative experiences where I trained, managed, mentored, and organized numerous special projects, complex investigations, and fellow team members. I am recognized as a specialist in major crimes investigations, electronic surveillance, elder crimes, and provided guidance as a subject matter expert for crimes against children. I also co-chaired the Florida Commercial Vehicle and Cargo Theft Task Force and assisted the National Cargo Theft initiatives with the trucking/insurance industries. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Graduate Certificate in Police Leadership from the University of Central Florida and currently teach Investigations for the local state college recruit academy. I attained the Florida Attorney General’s Elder Crimes Practitioner designation and was certified by the FBI in Digital Imaging and Video Recovery. During my service as a combat helicopter crew chief in the US Army, I was assigned as the advanced party commander and NBC (CBRN) noncommissioned officer after achieving honor graduate status. I am an active single engine airplane pilot and focused towards completing my flight instructor certification. Additional certifications and/or experience includes being a financial coach, physical trainer, PADI rescue diver, field training officer, part 107 drone operator, and commercial vehicle driver. I have experience in digital publishing, photography and multimedia to include establishing ISPs, web design, PC building and participating in the filming of real crime documentaries.

Currently motivate three separate teams of detectives who investigate domestic violence incidents, sex offenders/predators and cargo theft crimes. I manage the daily operations of sex offender tracking, registrations, and violations. The Sex Offender/Predator Unit consist of a registrar clerk and two full time detectives who manage more than a thousand persons convicted of sexual related crimes. The Domestic Violence Unit is comprised of two specialized detectives and a SHIELD Detective (Surviving Harmful Interactions through Electronic Location Devices) who review cases of Intimate Partner Violence and hold offenders accountable. The DV unit reviews inmate communication to assist in protecting victims of continued harassment, assist victim’s in obtaining injunctions and investigate additional historical violence to properly document the larger picture of abuse and assist with access to resources to break the cycle of violence. Management of the Cargo Theft Unit involves detectives who assist from the agency property crimes and major crimes units in the detection, investigation and apprehension of criminals who seek to steal commodities that has entered the interstate or intrastate stream of commerce. I facilitate interagency cooperation with state and federal partners, to include the Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, The Federal Bureau of Investigations and The United States Marshal’s Service as well as originate specialized federal grants for targeted investigations.
