Key team member of a biologics discovery group with a depth of knowledge in an array of analytical techniques and practices. I provided high-throughput purification and analytical support to a protein engineering group using Pichia pastoris as an expression system platform. In an environment with complex and constantly changing demands, I've demonstrated proficiency in PTM, antibody and protein characterization using Maldi-TOF, Q-TOF LC/MS, HPLC and UPLC.

Foundation Plant Services on the U.C. Davis campus is home of the National Grapevine Importation Program. It is a self-supporting facility providing importation and quarantine services for the wine-grape industry with a mission to ensure exotic pathogens are not introduced into the U.S. To adhere to strict U.S.D.A. import and quarantine guidelines, samples must be seasonally tested using a combination of molecular biology methods and field-based observation. Primary duties included collecting, processing, and screening plant material using methods such as ELISA, RT-PCR and qPCR.

HHMI funded summer internship. Isolated and quantified heat shock proteins (Hsp70) in a model organism using SDS-PAGE and Western blotting techniques. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills through weekly research updates and a final presentation to other interns and faculty advisors.
