Plogga
Stockholm, Sweden
PLOGGA is this year's new exercise trend and the start of a new movement of people flow across the country. PLOGGA stands for picking up trash and jogg (plocka & jogga, in Swedish). More and more people have begun to get their eyes out because our country is just getting junkier and they want to make an effort. For several years, the founder of PLOGGA, Erik Ahlström, has attempted to change a behavior that is a sign of a sick, unhealthy society without respect for each other – namely rubbish. The solution is super easy, we just begin to PLOGGA. We take for granted that you who read this feel bad about littering, 82% of all Swedes think that littering is a problem in our country. But PLOGGA is basically a collective name where we want to change the approach and get everyone to be"Proud Trash collectors" which you might as well do while walking out there with the stroller, on the golf round, cycling to work, diving och surfing at your favourite beach or walking and shopping.Research has argued that if you attend an athletic event and the stands are full of junk, the spectators are left apart from each other than if the stands are clean. Rubbish and doodle scare and make us distant from each other. One reason is that you do like everyone else. If it's clean, you do not throw the first peace of trash in an environment you appreciate, like and respect. We at PLOGGA are convinced that young people and students learn at an early stage to understand the value of a clean environment and that it is disrespectful to waste litter, someone else has to pick it up. To get used to a respectful behaviour will keep that habit through all your life.If we learn to care about our environment in the early days of life, chances are that we also develop a sustainable lifestyle that will protect the environment!
