While at Norsk Hydro (previously known as Sapa), I led a team of technical experts to support the IT needs for our west coast region, including over 1000 users in 11 locations across 5 states. I was heavily involved in several large-scale, global projects in all phases -- initiation, planning, execution, controlling, and closing. Specific examples of projects I participated in include migrating applications and databases to MS Azure, deploying Office 365 to North America, and overseeing the Portland datacenter upgrade.In addition to direct staff supervision and project management work, I operated as lead Business Systems Analyst for our Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation. In this role, I clearly defined solutions, linked them to measurable business outcomes, and encouraged communication within cross-functional teams. While at the Oregon Judicial Department (OJD), I held several technical roles within the Enterprise Technology Services Division (ETSD). As part of a centralized, shared services IT department, I helped administer a complex, state-wide computing environment with 2000+ users and computers. I participated in and led several large state-wide projects, including the proof-of-concept for the state-wide Windows 7 rollout, as well as a project to raise the Active Directory domain and forest functional levels. Additionally, I developed, tested, and implemented group policies for a variety of tasks, including software deployments, OS settings, and drive mappings based on group membership. System and data security was also a large focus of mine at OJD. To that end, I used industry standards and best practices to harden servers against unauthorized access, while documenting and automating our established standards.Similarly, I specialized in OS imaging and deployment. I designed and implemented a MDT system to capture, maintain, and deploy OJD standard desktop images.Working for ETSD at OJD also introduced me to the field of business systems analysis. I sincerely enjoyed being able to analyze OJD enterprise technology requirements and recommend technical solutions for use in courthouses across the state of Oregon.
