Erik N. Martin has experience working across government, industry, and civil society, with afocus on the intersections of emerging technologies and the public interest. He has helped buildseveral teams, offices, and programs from the ground up. Most recently, he helped stand up thenew Office of Technology at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, where he served as SeniorAdvisor to the CTO and Senior Technology Advisor, and worked with leadership and across theagency on tech-focused consumer protection and competition matters and investigations. Priorto that, he was part of the founding team for the Day One Project and launched the ImpactFellowship program at the Federation of American Scientists. He also managed federal andstate policy projects as a consultant for Democracy Fund’s Digital Democracy Initiative. Hepreviously worked in the tech industry as Senior Program Manager at Unity, the largest gamesand real-time 3D graphics development platform, where he helped launch new education-focused programs and products. During the Obama Administration, Erik served as a PolicyAdvisor at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, as well as an innovation and at the U.S. Department of Education. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, and has a Masters in Social Science of the Internet from the University of Oxford where he studied as a Clarendon Scholar.
