About Erik Reitinger
My work at Teaching Lab does three things: makes educators’ lives better by creating sustainable systems within their classrooms, schools, and districts; improves student outcomes through professional learning; and centers racial equity throughout the process. In my current role as a Program Director, I’m making an impact by directly influencing how leaders in the Bronx observe and give feedback to teachers. By modeling best practices, I am building the capacity of district leaders and school instructional coaches to create sustainable systems for teacher growth and development. Due in large part to those processes, students in schools where Teaching Lab is working are showing positive gains in learning. As a Content Manager, I wrote an entire year of content for teacher-leaders to create a space for investigating their biases and identity, how those biases present themselves within the roles they occupy, and how to actively disrupt those biases as a leader. I also stay at Teaching Lab to do three more things: to contribute to Teaching Lab’s growth and expansion; to iterate on and implement models that will make our work more accessible to schools and districts across the country; to influence the broader field of education with our innovative approach to teacher development.
Listed skills include Teaching, Leadership, Management, Writing, and 11 others.

My role on the Math Team is to develop content that aligns to Teaching Lab's vision for effective and equitable professional learning. My current portfolio focuses on guiding teacher-leaders within a school or district to implement professional learning communities. These communities are grounded in high-quality instructional materials, research-based pedagogy, and equity-based teaching practices. As a content developer, I create all relevant materials and meet with teams of facilitators to onboard them before delivering content to our partners. Show less
