I was elected as assistant professor has following doctoral studies in management with specialization in organization management and defended doctoral thesis about the importance of cultural differences in organization management to achieve better sales, customer satisfaction and performance results. My doctoral thesis research aim was to develop a practical model to provide and facilitate knowledge sharing opportunities in the organization, integrating cultural differences in the product development and developing relations with service suppliers. Doctoral thesis allowed me to develop knowledge in quantitative research, to apply quantitative research methods, develop business models and analyze large volume longitudinal research data.

Faculty of International Tourism is offering the students to improve their skills and get involved in the Tourism Research Centre operating at Turiba University, which is the only centre of this kind in the Baltic region. The Centre regularly gathers together both the tutors and the students in order to enable the scientific and applied research projects in the area of tourism and hospitality as well as to foster the competencies of the students in the tourism market. Workshops, guest-lectures, collaboration with the state agencies, the largest industry enterprises and tourism-related business sector studies take place on a day-to-day basis and are offered by the Tourism Research Centre. During past 5 years I have been supervising applied research developing business development and product development strategies for several tourism destinations and unique tourism object. I have been supervising research of large data based project about domestic travel habits in Latvia.

Analysis of competitive environment in core source markets (US, Canada, UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands) and application of applied research to business practice, increasing company's profitability.

My duties was to define areas of business and product development, setting sales and operational targets for team in 5 regional offices involved in FIT operations (Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, St. Petersburg and Warsaw), supervising department team in Riga, reporting sales and operational results in joint management group. This experienced was ground to develop skills required to work in international business environment, respecting cultural differences and developing intercultural competence.
